Pantagraph.com reports there was a fashion show held for Webkinz in Bloomington, Minnesota. The show was held at Casey's Garden Shop in Bloomington the week of January 19th, with 48 children from ages 3 to 16 modeling the latest Webkinz for the audience.
Kids modeled Webkinz such as the leopard, tree frog and dogs at the show. According to various parents in attendance at the show, they realize that these are more than toys and offer educational value.
"Becky Thompson of Bloomington wasn’t going to buy her daughters one of the toys. But then her husband, Todd, did some research and learned how educational and fun they are." (Source: Pantagraph.com)
The site offers several good tips for parents of children who own Webkinz:
- Use Webkinz as a reward for chores or homework being done.
- Decide upon an appropriate amount of time for your child to use the computer for Webkinz activities.
- Encourage creativity with your child and Wekbinz, such as drawing pictures and having Webkinz-themed parties with friends.
